Human Rights Due Diligence

We conduct our human rights due diligence (HRDD) process to identify, prevent, mitigate, and account for how our operations may impact human rights. This involves assessing potential risks and impacts on individuals and communities associated with our business activities, including our supply chain operations.

The HRDD process is an ongoing risk management process that helps us proactively prevent and mitigate adverse human rights impacts. To ensure compliance with the minimum safeguards in relation to human rights a human rights impact assessment (HRIA) is conducted with the objectives to:

  • Identify actual and potential human rights impacts that Renta might be directly involved in or linked to via our operations, services, or business relationships.
  • Create an action plan to exercise appropriate leverage over any adverse human rights impacts, and maximise the opportunities related to the policies, processes, plans, and activities of Renta.

This human rights impact assessment lays the basis for our Human rights actions and social sustainability improvements.

The Norwegian Transparency Act – Åpenhetsloven

On July 1st, 2022, the Norwegian Transparency Act (“Åpenhetsloven”) entered into force.

The law requires companies to publish a statement regarding their human rights’ due diligence (HRDD) assessment. The statement must be published on the company’s website and in the annual report. An essential part of the law is to ensure the public’s access to information and a company must be able disclose requested information within 3 weeks after a request for information has been made.

Compliance with Åpenhetsloven is a requirement for Renta Norway and the statement is published on renta.no
